The MPF services provided through the Cheque Deposit Machine by Nanyang Commercial Bank Limited was suspended from 6 June 2024.
MPF customers who remit cheque for MPF contributions can deposit the crossed cheque through the Cheque Deposit Machine and the designated MPF Document Receiving Branches of Bank of China (Hong Kong). Alternatively, customers may consider to set up autopay service by completing the ‘Direct Debit Authorization Form’ for contribution payment. You may visit the ‘Download Corner’ section and refer to the ‘Notice on MPF Contributions’ at our website for further information on the payment methods.

6 September 2024 is not a dealing day of constituent funds of MPF
Please note that due to the closing of banks in Hong Kong on 6 September 2024 as a result of a typhoon signal number 8 or above, according to the relevant provision of the MPF scheme brochure of the relevant MPF schemes, it is not a dealing day of the constituent fund on that day. The valuation and trading of all constituent funds will be suspended accordingly. All transaction instructions received on that day will be processed on the next business day. A handy administrative tip – Payment method for MPF contributions
In making contributions to the MPF schemes and/or accounts, employers/self-employed persons or members can choose to pay either by direct debit authorisation or cheque.
Direct debit authorisation
To set up the autopay arrangement for your contributions to the MPF schemes and/or account, simply complete and return the 'Direct Debit Authorisation Form’ to us. You can settle the contributions by direct debit after the autopay arrangement has been setup.
Cheque
To pay the contributions by cheque, simply submit a valid cheque with clear and correct information to us. Please prepare a crossed cheque payable to ‘BOCI-Prudential Trustee Limited’ with MPF Scheme Number marked at the back of the cheque.
For e-Cheque, you may deposit it via MPF (Employer/SEP) Account on our website or e-Cheque Drop Box of BOC(HK).
For physical cheque, you may deposit it through the cheque deposit machines of BOC(HK) or send your cheque to us by post.
Do not forget below tips in making payment for the contributions:
- Payment types such as CASH, bearer cheques, post-dated cheques or cashier orders are not accepted.
- Cheques with incorrect or incomplete information will be considered as invalid and will not be accepted.
- Ensure sufficient funds in the bank account for cheque settlement or direct debit.
- Ensure the amount payable does not exceed your bank limit for direct debit.

Arrangement on submission of MPF documents via designated MPF Document Receiving Bank Branch
To enhance our services on handling of MPF documents, if customer submit MPF documents via designated MPF Document Receiving Branch of BOC(HK), Nanyang Commercial Bank and Chiyu Banking Corporation), please seal the MPF documents in an envelope and put it into the Drop Box at the branch** or submit according to the arrangement of the branch, please specify "BOCI-Prudential Trustee Limited - MPF" or "BOCI - MPF" on the envelope.

Be vigilant against MPF fraud
Nowadays, there are endless fraud methods. Members should be more vigilant, protect their personal information carefully, and always be aware of unsolicited calls. If the identity of the caller or MPF intermediary is in doubt, you can contact the service provider directly to verify the identity of the caller. Do not trust unidentified callers and provide personal information to them before caller’s identity is verified. Before signing a document, members should also ensure that they have fully read and understood the whole document and avoid signing on blank or unfinished document.
Members should also aware of suspected crime syndicates that offer to help make early withdrawal of MPF accrued benefits through unsolicited calls, text messages or social media posts to avoid losses.

Declaration of Relevant Income for the Scheme Year 2024/2025 for Self-Employed Persons
We will send letters to self-employed persons (‘SEP’) by batches starting from 16 January 2024 to provide the details and proof of their relevant income for the purpose of calculating mandatory contribution, and to select whether to make contribution on a yearly or monthly basis for the next scheme year (from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025).
Please be reminded that if we do not receive the completed Declaration of Relevant Income before 29 February 2024 we will presume that the relevant income of the SEPs concerned will remain unchanged as last scheme year. The maximum relevant income level is subject to change of legislation from time to time, and the current maximum mandatory contribution amount is HKD1,500 per month or HKD18,000 per year.

MPF Contribution Arrangement for the Contribution Period of March 2023 (Contribution Day: 11 April 2023)
The contribution day for the MPF contribution of March 2023 falls on 11 April 2023 (Tuesday). While the public holidays for Ching Ming Festival and Easter are coming soon, there are 4 business days (ie 3rd, 4th, 6th and 11th) between the 1st and 11th of April, employers are reminded to submit the remittance statement and make the contribution payment on or before the contribution deadline. Employers who submit remittance statements and/or cheques by mail, please reserve sufficient time for document delivery and contribution processing (at least 3 working days) to avoid any delay.

Electronic notification services
While you may already be experiencing the efficiency and convenience brought by various electronic channels in the digital era, BOCI-Prudential Trustee Limited (‘BOCPT’) is committed to enhance the electronic notification service gradually by sending an email notification* to ‘e-Member’ who opted for email as the e-Alert method, in assisting MPF members to manage their MPF accounts with ease. From late December 2022 onwards, the relevant employees will receive an email notification when the allocation of fund units to their MPF contribution accounts for their MPF contributions paid by their employers is completed.
* The enhanced service is applicable to the employee contribution account and the member has registered as ‘e-Member’ who opted for email as the e-Alert method.

The Notice to Participating Employers and Members and the Third Addendum to the MPF Scheme Brochure of BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme
The MPF Scheme Brochure of BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme will be changed, including but not limited to the amendments in relation to the establishment of a new constituent fund, namely BOC-Prudential Hong Kong Stable Retirement Fund, regular withdrawal option for eligible retired members and unit rebate for eligible retired members who invest in the BOC-Prudential Hong Kong Stable Retirement Fund and elect the regular withdrawal option etc. The changes will become effective from 21 November 2022.

A handy administrative tip - Real-name Registration for SIM card users
To better adapt with the rapid advancement of technology, customers manage their MPF account through smartphone applications, or provide trustees with local mobile phone numbers as one of the contact methods to facilitate any follow-up on MPF matters. Customers please be aware that all the existing SIM card (including SIM cards for voice, data and/or SMS services) users are required to complete real-name registration on or before 23 February 2023, or otherwise the SIM cards will be deactivated after the aforementioned deadline. We encourage customers (if applicable) to complete real-name registration for their SIM cards as soon as possible prior to the deadline in order to continue the management of MPF accounts and receive the updated MPF information through smartphones.

A handy administrative tips on submission of documents
There are various ways for customers to submit the documents to BOCPT such as electronic submission by email or digital platforms and paper form by mailing or courier etc. Customers who choose to send their instructions in paper form by post, please be aware of the postage adjustment by the Hongkong Post with effect from 26 September 2022. The postage for local letters weighing 30 grams or less will be adjusted from HKD2 to HKD2.20 on that day and thereafter. While it may take a longer time for us to receive the insufficient postage mail from the post office, we therefore encourage you to pay sufficient postage and allow sufficient time for the mailing to reach us on time for the processing.

Contributions arrangement for March 2022
In view of the latest situation of COVID-19 and the corresponding postal services and/or bank branch service, employers are reminded to submit remittance statement and make contribution payment earlier to avoid missing the contribution deadline. For employers who submit remittance statements and/or cheques by mail, please observe the postal arrangement by the Hongkong Post and allow sufficient time to ensure the remittance statements and/or cheques will reach BOCI-Prudential Trustee Limited on or before the contribution deadline. Latest Hongkong Post Service Arrangements
According to the latest postal service arrangements announced by the Hongkong Post, the Hongkong Post Office and mail delivery services will be adjusted and/or partially suspended. For the latest information on Hongkong Post, please visit the Hongkong Post website www.hongkongpost.hk/en/about_us/whats_new/index.html.
To avoid any postal delays, we urge employers should use the following channels to submit remittance statement and MPF payment instead of mailing documents. If we do not receive the remittance statement and MPF payment by the contribution day, the employer may be regarded as default contribution and the trustee shall report such case to the MPFA.
- Go to the designated branches of Bank of China (Hong Kong), Nanyang Commercial Bank and Chiyu Banking Corporation to submit the MPF documents directly, please click here to view the list of designated branches
- Deposit the contribution cheque at the bank branch directly, and then email the remittance statement and contribution receipt to mpf@bocpt.com

Implementation of Two-factor Authentication for MPF Interactive Voice Response System from 2nd Quarter 2022
Managing MPF accounts in a safer and more reliable platform for BOCPT’s customers. Starting from 2nd quarter 2022 (exact date to be announced later), Two-Factor Authentication will be implemented to the Interactive Voice Response System for MPF. Members must input a one-time password received via a registered local mobile number and complete the authentication successfully in order to login to MPF account. If you have not registered local mobile number, please update it by submitting “Notice of Change of Scheme Member’s Particulars” for future access the system.
When Two-Factor Authentication is implemented to Interactive Voice Response System for MPF, members will need to reset their password before accessing our system. If your registered local mobile has been changed, please update it online or via our Customer Service Representatives.

Declaration of Relevant Income for the Scheme Year 2022/2023 for Self-Employed Persons
We will send letters to self-employed persons (‘SEP’) by batches starting from 13 January 2022 to provide the details and proof of their relevant income for the purpose of calculating mandatory contribution, and to select whether to make contribution on a yearly or monthly basis for the next scheme year (from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023).
Please be reminded that if we do not receive the completed Declaration of Relevant Income before 28 February 2022 we will presume that the relevant income of the SEPs concerned will remain unchanged as last scheme year. The maximum relevant income level is subject to change of legislation from time to time, and the current maximum mandatory contribution amount is HKD1,500 per month or HKD18,000 per year.

Please note that due to the closing of bank in Hong Kong on 13 Oct 2021 as a result of a typhoon signal number 8 or above, according to the relevant provision of the MPF scheme brochure of the relevant MPF scheme, it is not a dealing day of the constituent fund today, the valuation and trading of all constituent funds will be suspended accordingly. My Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme (“Scheme”) - My Choice Hong Kong Tracking Fund (“MYTF”) : Important Notice for Scheme Members who are U.S. Persons
This notice is to draw the attention of members of the Scheme who fall under the category of United States person, to take note that effective on 20 September 2021, MYTF (one of the constituent funds of the Scheme) ceases to invest in Tracker Fund of Hong Kong (TraHK)* (Stock Code: 2800.HK) an index-tracking collective investment scheme (“ITCIS”) listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (“HKEx”) and instead invest in CSOP ETF Series III - CSOP Hang Seng Index ETF (Stock Code: 3037.HK) an ITCIS listed on HKEx.
Members of the Scheme who fall under the category of United States person are reminded to perform your own due diligence and seek professional advice where necessary for taking appropriate action to avoid violation of any applicable laws and regulations for any investment in relation to MYTF.

Matters of the "Personal Information Collection" Form
Our company has recently mailed out the Annual Benefit Statement for the Scheme Financial Year ended 31st March 2021 to the MPF scheme members by batches, together with a “Personal Information Collection” form. As BOCI-Prudential Trustee Limited has been regarded as a licensed Trust or Company Service Provider from 1st of March 2018, we are required to review or update the information of our customers every 3 to 5 years in order to comply with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance of Hong Kong and to fulfill the requirements on Customer Due Diligence and Record-keeping. Therefore, the concerned "Personal Information Collection" form aims to collect or update the customer profile of our existing customers to ensure a complete and accurate set of records are being kept. Other than nationality, customers are required to provide name, HKID number, signature and HKID copy for verification of the identity purpose only. Customers may disregard the form if the related information has been provided before without any subsequent change. We highly recommend that scheme members to return the form to us if applicable. If customers do not response back to us, their account will remain in operation and we will make the necessary follow up in due course.

New version of MPF Scheme Brochure for My Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme (Effective date is 31 July 2021)
With effect from 31 July 2021, the MPF Scheme Brochure of My Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme will be updated, the summary of the major changes as follows:
(i) The number of categories of risk profile of Constituent Funds will be changed from three to five;
(ii) Due to the change mentioned in (i) above, the risk profile category of some Constituent Funds will be amended;
(iii) The risk profile category of the Constituent Funds under the DIS Funds will be changed; and
(iv) In order to reflect the change of investment policy of the underlying APIF, the investment policy of My Choice China Equity Fund (“MCCEF”) will also be changed. Members who are investing in MCCEF may have the option to (1) switch the investment to other Constituent Funds of the Scheme or (2) transfer out to the Scheme or (3) taking no action if no objection to the change.
With effect from 2 August 2021, the Address of the Customer Service Centre will be changed:
- Customer Service Centre will be relocated to Suite 1507, 15/F, 1111 King’s Road, Taikoo Shing, Hong Kong.
For the purpose of standardisation, the MPF Scheme Brochure dated 31 March 2020 together with the first addendum dated 15 May 2020 will be incorporated as a new version of MPF Scheme Brochure. The above changes will also be incorporated in the new version of MPF Scheme Brochure (The effective date of new version is 31 July 2021).

Notice to Participating Employers and Members of BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme (the “Scheme”)
With effect from 1 July 2021 (the “Effective Date”), the prospective participants who would like to enrol in the Scheme as Employers, SEP Members, SVC Members, TVC Members or Personal Account Members (as the case may be) will only be required to complete and sign the Application Form prescribed by the Trustee instead of separately signing an Application Form and the Participation Agreement in order to participate in the Scheme. The changes to administrative procedures will not have any impact on the existing Employers and Members of the Scheme and no action is required from existing Employers and Members.
To reflect the above changes to the administrative procedures, the Trust Deed has been amended by way of a Deed of Variation and Substitution. Please refer to the Notice to Participating Employers and Members for more details.

Tax Deductible Voluntary Contribution (TVC) arrangement before end of the year of assessment 2020/2021
We sent out letters in January 2021 to remind existing Tax Deductible Voluntary Contribution (TVC) members they should deliver relevant TVC contribution and instruction to us on or before 31 March 2021 if they want to make additional TVC to enjoy tax concession in the year of assessment 2020/2021.
New customers who want to apply for TVC before the end of this year of assessment are recommended to deliver the application form together with relevant contribution to us on or before 19 March 2021 to allow sufficient processing time.

13 October 2020 is not a dealing day of constituent funds of MPF scheme
Please note that due to the closing of bank in Hong Kong on 13 Oct 2020 as a result of a tropical cyclone signal number 8 or above, according to the relevant provision of the principal brochure of the relevant MPF scheme, it is not a dealing day of the constituent fund today, the valuation and trading of all constituent funds will be suspended accordingly. All transaction instructions received today will be processed on next business day.

Latest Hongkong Post Service Arrangements
According to the latest postal service arrangements announced by the Hongkong Post, the Hongkong Post Office and mail delivery services will continue to be adjusted and/or partially suspended. For the latest information on Hongkong Post, please visit the Hongkong Post website www.hongkongpost.hk/en/about_us/whats_new/index.html.
To avoid any postal delays, we urge employers should use the following channels to submit remittance statement and MPF payment instead of mailing documents. If we do not receive the remittance statement and MPF payment by the contribution day, the employer may be regarded as default contribution and the trustee shall report such case to the MPFA.

Latest Service Arrangement of COVID 19 pandemic
With the recent outbreak of COVID‑19 pandemic, BOCI-Prudential Trustee implemented special work arrangement have affected workflow and impeded progress, that processing of various enquiries, applications, changes, contribution, documents delivery, payment applications and hotline service may be delayed and it may take a longer time for BOCI-Prudential Trustee to provide a reply. Sorry for any inconvenience caused to you.
With effect from 20 July 2020, the office hours of hotline service is 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Member can still login our website, mobile APP or interactive voice response system outside the hotline operating hours for account details.
Mandatory contributions for the contribution period July 2020 shall due on 10 August 2020 (Monday).
BOC(HK) announced that services of certain BOC(HK) branches will be temporarily suspended until further notice, the submission of MPF documents by designated BOC(HK) branches may be affected, customers may visit the relevant websites to obtain the latest information. BOCI-Prudential Trustee encourages employers to make the MPF payment by direct bank-in/auto-pay at BOC(HK), Nanyang Commercial Bank or Chiyu Banking Corporation branch, or via the BOC(HK) cheque deposit machine, and submit the remittance statement and/or other MPF documents through the electronic channels.
In addition, Hongkong Post has also adopted special postal arrangement, services of local and inbound mail will be subject to delay. If employers who submit remittance statement and/or cheque by mail, please allow sufficient time for the remittance statement and/or cheque to reach BOCI-Prudential Trustee on or before the contribution deadline.

My Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme (the “Scheme”) - My Choice Global Equity Fund and My Choice Global Bond Fund
With effect from 19 June 2020, My Choice Global Equity Fund ("GEF") and My Choice Global Bond Fund ("GBF") will cease to invest in their respective existing approved pooled investment funds ("APIFs") (each, an "Existing APIF") and instead each invest in a new APIF (each, a "New APIF") as table below.

Full implementation of Two-factor Authentication for web account from 1 June 2020
Online account security is always the priority concern of BOCI-Prudential. To provide a safer and more reliable online platform for our customers to manage MPF account, we have launched Two-factor Authentication (“2FA”) for online account login in August 2019 on optional basis. This measure will be fully implemented starting from 1 June 2020. After the full implementation, members must input a one-time password received via a registered mobile or email during log into web account.
If members have not registered a valid mobile number and email with us before, we strongly recommend them to update the relevant personal information by following methods before 1 June to avoid being unable to log into web account in the future. Please click here for user guide on how to use 2FA.

Latest MPF Service Arrangements for BOC(HK) Branches
BOC(HK) announced that the bank services of 49 branches (including 11 affected branches in Hong Kong Island, 19 in Kowloon and the New Territories) and service centres will be temporarily suspended from 1 February, 2020 until further notice. Due to the submission of MPF documents by certain BOC(HK) designated branches may be affected, BOCI-Prudential Trustee recommends that customers should submit the MPF contributions, documents and/or instructions through other bank branches, or use the electronic channels such as online and mobile app. Customers may visit the websites from relevant bank to obtain the latest information.
In addition, the HongKong Post has announced that only basic and limited services can be provided from 3 February to 9 February 2020, hence, we recommend employers to make the MPF payment by auto-pay/direct bank in at BOC(HK), Nanyang Commercial Bank or Chiyu Banking Corporation branch, or via the BOC(HK) cheque deposit machine, and submit the remittance statement by using fax 2151-0999 / 2530-4786 or email to mpf@bocpt.com together with the bank-in slip on or before the contribution due date (10 February). Please note that if employers who submit remittance statement and/or cheque by mail, please ensure to allow sufficient time for the remittance statement and/or cheque to reach BOCI-Prudential Trustee on or before the contribution deadline.
Meanwhile, employers are encouraged to use the MPF e-services provided by BOCI-Prudential Trustee to handle the MPF contributions which could ensure making accurate contributions as well as enhancing efficiency and reduce administrative costs, and also avoid problems arising from any error or delay, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Services Representatives.

Tax Deductible Voluntary Contribution (TVC) arrangement before end of the year of assessment 2019/2020
We are going to send out letters in January 2020 to remind existing Tax Deductible Voluntary Contribution (TVC) members they should deliver relevant TVC contribution and instruction to us on or before 31 March 2020 if they want to make additional TVC to enjoy tax concession in the year of assessment 2019/2020.
New customers who want to apply for TVC before the end of this year of assessment are recommended to deliver the application form together with relevant contribution to us on or before 20 March 2020 to allow sufficient processing time.

Declaration of Relevant Income for the Scheme Year 2020/2021 for Self-Employed Persons
We will send letters to self-employed persons (‘SEP’) by batches starting from 13 January 2020 to provide the details and proof of their relevant income for the purpose of calculating mandatory contribution, and to select whether to make contribution on a yearly or monthly basis for the next scheme year (from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021).
Please be reminded that if we do not receive the completed Declaration of Relevant Income before 29 February 2020, we will presume that the relevant income of the SEPs concerned will remain unchanged as last scheme year. The maximum relevant income level is subject to change of legislation from time to time, and the current maximum mandatory contribution amount is HKD1,500 per month or HKD18,000 per year.

Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information to be implemented on 1 January 2020, administration forms for MPF Schemes and ORSO Registered Schemes are updated
Starting from 1 January 2020, the Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information in Tax Matters (“AEOI”) will take effect under the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap. 112) ("the Ordinance"). Under the Ordinance, MPF schemes and ORSO registered schemes are required to comply with the due diligence and reporting obligations relating to the AEOI. Hence, a complete self-certification will be required from account holder for all new MPF and ORSO accounts opened on or after 1 January 2020 to verify scheme member’s tax residency. Otherwise, the relevant account opening process could not be completed.
As such, relevant administration forms of MPF schemes and ORSO registered schemes have been updated for members to provide tax residency self-certification. You can download the updated forms at “Download Corner” from our website www.bocpt.com/homepage/en/.

Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information to be implemented for MPF Schemes and ORSO Registered Schemes on 1 January 2020
Starting from 1 January 2020, the Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information in Tax Matters (“AEOI”) relating to MPF schemes and ORSO registered schemes will take effect under the Inland Revenue (Amendment) (No.2) Ordinance 2019 (the “Amendment Ordinance”).

BOCI-Prudential launches Two-factor Authentication login function
In order to improve customer experience and enhance the security of online MPF services, starting from 1 August 2019, we will launch two-factor authentication to add an extra layer of protection to scheme members’ MPF accounts. After activating the two-factor authentication, a one-time verification code will be sent to your registered local mobile phone number via SMS when you log into MPF account next time. The new BOCPT MPF APP provides a secure and convenient mobile platform that allows you to log into MPF account using biometric authentication methods (such as fingerprint/ face recognition) and features a smooth and enhanced user experience. Message to Members for a Constituent Fund of "BOC-Prudential Japan Equity Fund" of BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme
This message is important and requires members' immediate attention. If members are in any doubt about the contents of this message, members should seek independent professional advice.
We would like to inform members of certain non-Dealing Days for the Fund due to the extended 10-day public holidays in Japan from 27 April 2019 (Saturday) to 6 May 2019 (Monday) to mark the accession of the new Emperor of Japan.
Pursuant to Section 5.1.1 of the Principal Brochure of the Scheme, units in the Fund will be valued, issued and redeemed on each dealing day which is every business day or such other day(s) as the Trustee and Investment Manager may from time to time determine provided that if any commodities and securities markets on which all or part of the investments of any constituent fund are quoted, listed or dealt in are on any such day not open for trading, the Trustee and the Investment Manager may determine that such day is not a dealing day for that constituent fund.
In response to the closure of stock market in Japan during the aforementioned period, the Trustee and the Investment Manager have determined that the following days shall not be Dealing Days for the Fund. No subscription / redemption / switching requests in relation to the Fund will be processed on such non-Dealing Days. Any subscription / redemption / switching requests received during the period commencing after the dealing deadline on 26 April 2019 to 6 May 2019 will be processed on 7 May 2019.

MPF Tax Deductible Voluntary Contributions will take effect on 1 April 2019
The MPF Tax Deductible Voluntary Contributions (TVC) will take effect on 1 April 2019. Starting on that day, any person may open a TVC account in MPF scheme if that person has fulfilled the applicable laws and requirements.
TVC is a new type of contributions and can only be paid into a TVC account of an MPF scheme. TVC may enjoy tax concession. Other characteristics of TVC are as follows:
- TVC can only be made directly by the persons who fulfil the eligibility requirements, i.e. he/she is a current holder of contribution account or personal account of an MPF scheme or a current member of an MPF exempted ORSO scheme
- Involvement of employers is not required
- Although it is voluntary in nature, TVC is subject to the same vesting, preservation and withdrawal restrictions applicable to mandatory contributions
Accordingly, any accrued benefits derived from TVC (including the TVC made in excess of the maximum tax deduction limit during a tax assessment year) will be preserved. Members should note that accrued benefits held in a TVC account can only be withdrawn upon retirement at age 65 or on other statutory grounds under the MPF legislation.
The maximum tax deductible amount for the year of assessment 2019/2020 is HK$60,000 for TVC. It is an aggregate limit for both TVC and other qualifying annuity premiums.

Gentle Reminder on the MPF Contribution Arrangement for the Contribution Period of January 2019 (Contribution Due Date: 11 Feb)
Employers are required by law to remit every month MPF contributions to the trustee for the previous contribution period (generally means wage period), together with the duly completed Remittance Statement and Notice of Termination of Employment (if applicable). These should reach the trustee on or before the Contribution Day each month.
Please kindly note that the MPF contribution day for the contribution period of January 2019 will fall on 11 February 2019 (Monday). Between the 1st and 11th of February, there are only 4 business days (i.e. 1st, 4th, 8th and 11th) and it is customary for many employers and employees to take longer leave during the Chinese New Year holidays. Please reserve sufficient document delivery and contribution processing time (at least 3 working days) to avoid any delay. A non-complying employer is liable to a contribution surcharge and penalty.
We provide various channels to facilitate employers making MPF contributions and submit contribution data. To ease employers’ administration burden, employers may consider setting up auto-pay arrangement with the banks by completing a Direct Debit Authorization Form or use BOC CBS Online to pay the MPF contributions, which provides a punctual and convenient payment experience.
Employers may also submit contribution data via electronic means. By preparing electronic contribution data files with our MPF contribution calculation software PayEasy & SmartCon, you will be free from the hassle of hand-writing and mailing the Remittance Statement.

Declaration of Relevant Income for the Scheme Year 2019/2020 for Self-Employed Persons
We will send letters to self-employed persons (‘SEP’) by batches starting from 15 January 2019 to provide the details and proof of their relevant income for the purpose of calculating mandatory contribution, and to select whether to make contribution on a yearly or monthly basis for the next scheme year (from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020).
Please be reminded that if we do not receive the completed Declaration of Relevant Income before 28 February 2019, we will presume that the relevant income of the SEPs concerned will remain unchanged as last scheme year. The maximum relevant income level is subject to change of legislation from time to time, and the current maximum mandatory contribution amount is HKD1,500 per month or HKD18,000 per year.

Notice on Suspension of Relevant MPF Services Due to System Upgrade of BOCHK and Chiyu
In order to enhance customer services, Bank of China (Hong Kong) (the "BOCHK") and Chiyu Banking Corporation Ltd (the "Chiyu") will perform system upgrade from 11pm on 31 March 2018 (Saturday) to 3pm on 1 April 2018 (Sunday) and their relevant MPF services (please see below for details) will be suspended during the period:
- Make MPF contributions through Automated Teller Machines ("ATM"), Cheque Deposit Machines or Internet Banking
- Upload "PayEasy" or "SmartCon" contribution data files through internet banking services such as Corporate Internet Banking or BOCHK Payroll services
- Enquire about contribution history and MPF balance via ATM or Internet Banking
We would advise customers make necessary prior arrangements for MPF services required before the system upgrade period to avoid unexpected delay.

23 Aug 2017 is not a dealing day of constituent funds of MPF scheme
Please note that due to the closing of bank in Hong Kong on 23 Aug 2017 as a result of a tropical cyclone signal number 8 or above, according to the relevant provision of the principal brochure of the relevant MPF scheme, it is not a dealing day of the constituent fund today, the valuation and trading of all constituent funds will be suspended accordingly. All transaction instructions received today will be processed on next business day.

Enhance Login Password Security of Member’s Online MPF Account
Starting form 8 May 2017, we will enhance the login password security requirements to protect the security of member’s online MPF account. Currently a 6-8 digit password of member’s choice is required; while under the new standard, the login password should contain 8 - 15 characters (including alphabets in upper & lower case and numbers) selected by relevant user. New password security requirements will apply to scheme members’ first time login, password reset, or change of password. Nevertheless, members can keep using their existing passwords if they have set them before; while the password security setting for Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) will remain unchanged.

Adjustments to MPF Contribution Payment Services via Chiyu Banking Corporation Ltd. (“Chiyu Bank”)
With effect from 27 March 2017, Bank of China (Hong Kong) (“BOCHK”) has completed the share transfer of Chiyu Bank. Launch of Default Investment Strategy (“DIS”) on 1 April 2017
DIS will come into effect on 1 April 2017, with new MPF investment choices being added to BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice MPF Scheme and My Choice MPF Scheme. Scheme members can choose to invest all or a certain percentage of their accrued benefits according to the DIS and/or into Core Accumulation Fund, Age 65 Plus Fund or other constituent fund(s) as a standalone fund choice if they think it suits their personal needs.
Starting from 3 April, we will send out the “DIS Re-investment Notice” (the “Notice”) by batches to scheme members who have not given any valid investment instruction. The Notice will elaborate how the members’ benefits may be affected by the DIS. Scheme members are required to make their investment choices by replying within 42 days from the date of the Notice. If we do not receive their replies on or before the deadline, their accrued benefits will be automatically re-invested according to the DIS. If members do not receive the Notice or are not sure if they have given investment instructions to us before, they should contact us immediately.

“SmartCon” Calculator – Upgrading to Version 1.6.4
Starting from 3 March 2017, our contribution software "SmartCon" is upgraded to version 1.6.4. Remarks number 4 is newly added to remind employers to provide the termination reason if they request to offset Long Service Payment / Severance Payment (“LSP / SP”) against the accrued benefits derived from employer’s contributions or there are accrued benefits attributable to employer’s voluntary contributions in the employee’s account.

Declaration of Relevant Income for the Scheme Year 2017/2018 for Self-Employed Persons
We will send letters to self-employed persons (‘SEP’) by batches starting from 17 January 2017 to provide the details and proof of their relevant income for the purpose of calculating mandatory contribution, and to select whether to make contribution on a yearly or monthly basis for the next scheme year (from 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018).
Please be reminded that if we do not receive the completed Declaration of Relevant Income before 28 February 2017, we will presume that the relevant income of the SEPs concerned will remain unchanged as last scheme year. The maximum relevant income level is subject to change of legislation from time to time, and the current maximum mandatory contribution amount is HKD1,500 per month or HKD18,000 per year.

Updates on MPF Investment Instruction Cut-Off Time
Please note that MPF investment instruction cut-off time of BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme and My Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme will be changed to 4:00pm (Hong Kong time) with effect from 13 February 2017. Member’s valid investment instructions received by the Trustee at or before 4:00pm on any business day will normally be processed on the same day. Valid investment instructions received after 4:00pm on any business day or at any time on a Saturday, public holiday or other non-business day will normally be processed on the following business day.

Please note that due to the temporary suspension of banking services in Hong Kong on 21 Oct 2016 as a result of a tropical cyclone signal number 8, according to the relevant provision of the principal brochure of the relevant MPF scheme, it is not a dealing day of the constituent fund today, the valuation and trading of all constituent funds will be suspended accordingly. Issuance Application Form for Special Voluntary Contribution (SVC) Member & Participation Agreement under BOC-Prudential MPF Scheme
With effect from 13 Jun 2016, a new type of membership, SVC members, will be established under BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme (the “Scheme”). The Application Form for Special Voluntary Contribution (SVC) Member (for non-existing members) and Participation Agreement (for SVC Members) can be obtained from the same day onwards by visiting our website: www.bocpt.com or calling the MPF Administration Hotline.
There are two types of SVC - Regular SVC and Lump Sum SVC. The Regular SVC is subject to a minimum monthly amount $300, whilst the Lump Sum SVC is subject to a minimum amount of HK$1,000. Participating members of the scheme may simply submit an Application for Special Voluntary Contribution (SVC) (For Existing Member Only) which can be obtained from the same day onwards by visiting our website or calling the MPF Administration Hotline, if they choose to make SVC to their existing MPF accounts.

Invitation to Make Payment for MPF Contributions by e-Cheque
With effect from 29 March 2016, we will commence accepting payment for MPF contributions by e-Cheque from employers and self-employed persons (“SEPs”). After issuing an e-Cheque, employers / SEPs are cordially invited to submit the e-Cheque in PDF format to us via e-Cheque upload service of MPF account on our website, and furthermore, for those employers / SEPs who have Bank of China (Hong Kong) (“BOCHK”) accounts, they can also send the e-Cheque directly to us through the email service provided by BOCHK Internet Banking.

Addition of Withdrawal of Accrued MPF Benefits by Instalments
With effect from 1 February 2016, when scheme members retire or early retire, they are allowed to withdraw accrued benefits by instalments in addition to withdrawing accrued MPF benefits in a lump sum or retaining benefit in the scheme in accordance with the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes (Amendment) Ordinance 2015. No fee will be imposed on the lump sum payment of accrued benefits or the first four withdrawals by instalments each calendar year, but a handling fee of HK$100 will be charged by our company for each additional partial withdrawal afterwards. The current Claim Form for Payment of Accrued Benefits will be replaced by Form MPF(S)-W(R) (applicable to claims on grounds of retirement or early retirement) and Form MPF(S)-W(O) (applicable to claims on other grounds) which can be obtained from the effective date onwards by visiting the Trustee’s website: www.bocpt.com or calling the MPF Administration Hotline.

Issuance of Second, Third and Fourth Addendum to the Principal Brochure of BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme
With effect from 15 December 2015, the Principal Brochure of BOC-Prudential Easy- Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme has been amended in accordance with the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes (Amendment) Ordinance 2015, including the addition of withdrawal of accrued benefits by instalments, fee relating to payment of accrued benefits by instalment, and subsequent changes to the definitions of “Offer spread”, “Bid spread” and “Withdrawal charge” under Section 7.1 “Fee tables”, as well as the addition of Terminal Illness as one of the grounds for the early withdrawal of accrued benefits. Moreover, amendments will be made to the investment policies of constituent funds and the sub-funds of Umbrella Unit Trust. Changes relating to the offsetting arrangement of severance/ long service payment and notice period in relation to the modification of the Trust Deed of the Scheme have also been reflected in the addendum. In addition, a new provision will be introduced in the Trust Deed on the transfer of units between participating schemes under the Scheme.

MPFA Published a New Book “Towards Retirement Security”
The MPFA recently published a book titled “Towards Retirement Security” to mark the 15th anniversary of the implementation of the MPF system in Hong Kong. This book reviews trends and developments in retirement protection systems in Hong Kong and overseas, showing approaches adopted by different societies to respond to the issue. The MPFA hopes the book will deepen the public’s understanding of the role of the MPF System in Hong Kong’s overall retirement protection framework.

Issuance of Second Addendum to the Principal Brochure of My Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme
With effect from 7 Dec 2015, the Principal Brochure of My Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme has been amended in accordance with the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes (Amendment) Ordinance 2015, including the addition of withdrawal of accrued benefits by instalments, fee relating to payment of accrued benefits by instalment, and subsequent changes to the definitions of “Offer spread”, “Bid spread” and “Withdrawal charge” under Section 7.1 “Fee tables”. Moreover, the name of the investment manager of My Choice RMB & HKD Money Market Fund has been changed from “RCM Asia Pacific Limited” to “Allianz Global Investors Asia Pacific Limited”.

Payment for MPF Contributions by e-Cheque
We are pleased to announce that with effect from 31 Mar 2016, we will commence accepting payment for MPF contributions by e-cheque from both corporate and individual clients, in tandem with the official launch of full-scale e-Cheque services offered by local banks on the same day (trial commencement date of certain banks: 7 Dec 2015). Relevant clients should retain the current methods of payment for MPF contributions before 31 Mar 2016, and thereafter make MPF contributions either by e-cheque or their current methods on or before the Contribution Day each month (i.e. the 10th day of each month).

Thank you very much for your participation in the Scheme. We would like to inform you the following changes to the Principal Brochure of the Scheme:
Unless otherwise defined, capitalized terms used herein shall have the same meaning as defined in the Principal Brochure of the Scheme.
Amendments relating to the investment risk profiles of the Constituent Funds of the Scheme
We would like to inform you that there will be a change in respect of the determination mechanism of the investment risk profiles of the Constituent Funds of the Scheme described in the Principal Brochure. At present, under Section 3.1 “Investment Policy of the Constituent Funds” of the Principal Brochure, the investment risk profiles of the Constituent Funds of the Scheme are determined by the investment managers of the Constituent Fund and/or the underlying APIFs and/or approved ITCIS based on the investment mix of the respective Constituent Funds/underlying APIFs/approved ITCIS. The party who determines the investment risk profiles of the Constituent Funds of the Scheme will be revised to BOCI-Prudential Trustee Limited instead of the investment managers.
The change is made for the purpose of providing update information of the Investment Risk Profile. The disclosure relating to the determination mechanism of investment risk profiles of Constituent Funds of the Scheme under the above-mentioned section will be amended accordingly.
The above change will take immediate effect from the date hereof.
Details of amendments mentioned above are set out in the First Addendum to the Principal Brochure.

Issuance of the Latest Principal Brochure of My Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme , Updated On-going Cost Illustrations for MPF Scheme & Suspension of using old version of Claim Form for Payment of Accrued Benefits
With effect from 30 Sep 2015, the Principal Brochure of My Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme (the “Scheme”) has been amended in accordance with the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes (Amendment) Ordinance 2015 (the “Ordinance”) (including the addition of Terminal Illness as one of the grounds for the early withdrawal of accrued benefits). Moreover, clarification of the investment policy’s description of the My Choice Hong Kong Equity Fund and associated changes relating to the offsetting arrangement of severance/ long service payment have also been made.
Please refer to the Summary of Changes (click here) for more details about the above changes and other amendments to the Principal Brochure and the Trustee Deed . The latest consolidated Principal Brochure and Trust Deed are available free of charge at our Customer Centre, or can be downloaded from our website www.bocpt.com with immediate effect.
The Ongoing Cost Illustrations for BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice and My Choice MPF Scheme (Issue Date: 30 Sep 2015) have also been updated in accordance with relevant requirement in the “Code on Disclosure for MPF Investments Funds”. Starting from the Issue Date, members can also obtain the updated document by visiting our website www.bocpt.com.
Moreover, we will no longer accept the submission of old version Claim Form for Payment of Accrued Benefits after 1 Nov 2015. In this connection, if you have retained copies of the former Claim Form for Payment of Accrued Benefits, please dispose of them and use the latest form (version as at June 2015). The latest form can be obtained by visiting our website www.bocpt.com or calling our MPF Administration Hotline.

Reminder on Long Service Payment/ Severance Payment Offsetting Arrangement
If employers intend to make long-service payment/severance payment (LSP/SP) to a leaving employee (and apply for offsetting the LSP/SP with accrued benefits derived from the employer’s contributions afterwards), please contact us before you do so as soon as practicable to check the net amount of your contributions in relevant employee’s MPF account. Otherwise, if part of or all of the accrued benefits derived from your contributions have already been withdrawn on grounds of Terminal Illness by the employee in the course of employment, you may find it impossible to be reimbursed after making full payment of LSP / SP to such employee.

The Legislative Council has passed the Special Holiday (3 September 2015) Bill on 9 July 2015 to designate 3 September 2015 (namely the 70th anniversary day of the victory of the Chinese people’s war of resistance against Japanese aggression) as a one-off additional Statutory Holiday and General Holiday for 2015.
To ensure the accurate calculation of contributions by "PayEasy" after the addition of this public holiday, "PayEasy" users can download the updated 2015 public holiday file from our website www.bocpt.comstarting from now on.

Amendments to the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance in 2015
With effect from 1 Aug 2015, “Terminal Illness” will be included as an additional ground for the early withdrawal of accrued benefits for members in accordance with the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes (Amendment) Ordinance 2015 (the “Ordinance”). A scheme member who suffers from a terminal illness which is likely to reduce the life expectancy to 12 months or less can lodge a claim for the accrued benefits with his trustee within 12 months of the issue date of a Medical Certificate from a registered medical practitioner or a registered Chinese medicine practitioner. Relevant Claim Form for Payment of Accrued Benefits will be updated accordingly and can be obtained from the same day onwards by visiting our website: www.bocpt.com or calling our MPF Administration Hotline.
The Ordinance has also clarified the definitions of “Permitted Period” and “Contribution Day” in the case of self-employed person (“SEP”). “Permitted Period” refers to the period within which employers are required to enroll their employees into a MPF scheme or the person who becomes self-employed is required to enroll himself/herself in a MPF scheme. The Permitted Period is 10 days for casual employee and 60 days for non-casual employee and SEP, whereas the Contribution Day related to SEP refers to the last day of relevant contribution period (either on a monthly or yearly basis). If the last day of Permitted Period/ SEP’s Contribution Day falls on a Saturday, a public holiday, a gale warning day or a black rainstorm warning day, the Permitted Period/ Contribution Day will be extended to the next following day which is not a Saturday, a public holiday, a gale warning day or a black rainstorm warning day.
In addition, the Ordinance has been amended to streamline and automate MPF administration processes. With effect from 1 Aug 2015, the Participation Certificate currently issued by the MPFA to employers will be eliminated and employers will no longer need to display the certificate at their principal place of business.

Issuance of Addendum to the Principal Brochure of BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme
With effect from 1 July 2015, amendments will be made to the notice period in relation to changing the investment policy of constituent funds and the index disclaimer of the BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme (the “Scheme”). Declaration of Relevant Income for the Scheme Year 2015/2016 for Self-Employed Persons ("SEP")
We will send letters to self-employed persons in the middle of January to provide the details and proof of their relevant income for the purpose of calculating mandatory contribution, and to select whether to make contribution on a yearly or monthly basis for the next scheme year (from 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016).
Please be reminded that if we do not receive the completed Declaration of Relevant Income before 28 February 2015, we will presume that the relevant income of the SEPs concerned will remain unchanged as last scheme year. The maximum relevant income level is subject to change of legislation from time to time, and the current maximum mandatory contribution amount is HKD1,500 per month or HKD18,000 per year.
